Even as San Diego foreclosures were going up so was the median price of homes in San Diego.
The price of
San Diego coastal properties continued to soar. The median price for single-family homes in San Diego County rose 0.9 per cent in April. Some of the
San Diego coastal properties that did well in Del Mar and Solana beach. The average price of San Diego homes in Del Mar is 999,000. The big draw in Del Mar is the race track. A lot of people like to live next to the race tracks. Another feature of this San Diego coastal property is its Victorian styles homes. These homes are unique to San Diego. Del Mar is a short drive to La Jolla and many residents work in La Jolla.
Solana Beach is another pricey piece of San Diego coastal properties. The average home price last year was $1,330,980 and the median home price was $1,160,000. Solana Beach is a small, upscale city tucked between Encinitas and Del Mar. The older of the Solana beach properties are near the coast. The newer properties are inland.
Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leucadia and Olivenhain are other San Diego coastal properties. However, the prices of these San Diego homes are not as much as the price of homes in Del Mar or Solana beach.
The advantage of a San Diego property in Leucadia is that it has a lot of ocean view homes. However, the streets of Leucadia are really narrow and the streets are always crowded. This brings down the price of San Diego homes.
La Jolla is the priciest of the San Diego coastal properties. The average home price in 2006 was $2,238,139 while the median price was $1,750,000. La Jolla is also one of the most famous of the San Diego neighborhoods.
San Diego homes in the La Jolla neighborhood are usually large homes with expansive views. The University of Southern California is located in La Jolla and so there is a lot of activity in this area.
